The Written Expression Language and Literacy Collaborative (WELL)

Transforming Writing Instruction Through Structured Literacy

What is WELL?

We are a group of speech-language pathologists, teachers, and researchers committed to furthering our understanding of effective writing instruction for school-age children and disseminating this knowledge to teachers, specialists and parents.

Our Mission

  • Serve the language and literacy needs of the local, regional and national community.

  • Examine the effects of structured writing instruction delivered in the schools.

  • Implement evidence-based effective writing practices through research-practice partnerships that are interdisciplinary.

Rotterdam, here we come!

Find us this summer at the Society for Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR) International Conference. The team will present our talk “Structured Literacy for Writing in Middle School: Longitudinal Outcomes from a Research–Practice Partnership” on Saturday at 8:30 am, July 18th.
